One of my relatives has just moved into their new house located a stone's throw from our place. They called us up today to tell us that they will be throwing a housewarming party this weekend. This means that I have to keep myself free this weekend so that I can attend. It also means that I have to take out my good old recipe book and cook up some party favorites, since I have promised them that I will bring along some goodies to eat. I also have to rack my rains and think of a good housewarming gift to give them. However, I think I might just settle on a
ceramic knife. This is because last year, when these same relatives had visited us, I remember chatting with them while I was preparing food in my kitchen. They noticed my
CERAMIC KNIFE and were very much interested to know all about it. They had asked me what ceramic knives are made of, and I had told them that it was an advanced ceramic called zirconia, the second hardest material known to man next to diamond. The unique white ceramic blade, made of zirconium oxide, undergoes high-pressure molding before being fired. It is then ground and polished on a diamond wheel to form a sharp cutting edge and attached to the knife handle. Due to that, my
Ceramic Knife was particularly resistant to wear and tear, and could hold its edge much longer than a steel blade. So, with proper care, ceramic knives can go for many months or years without the need for re-sharpening. They are also stain and rust proof. Their non-stick surface makes the ceramic blade easy to clean. Moreover, they don't impart any metallic taste or smell and hence the ceramic knife will not interact with the taste of the food. With all these benefits, I am quite sure that my relatives will be thrilled to get a set of ceramic knives to use in their new house.
